b       I am going to interview a nurse practitioner who is my aunt and I am going to ask her these questions in person. Then I am going to upload these questions when they are answered and put them into my magazine.

Marketing

   Marketing is defined as promoting and selling products and services. According to "Small business one of the best ways to market a new magazine is by aligning with an organization. Also by using social media." Marketing is a big way in making your magazine successful, and it helps make people aware and want to buy or look at your magazines. Based on this information we are going to align with Hosa, which is health occupations students of america and we are going to do interviews with them and put it in our magazine. Also to market the magazine we are going to use social media and use our blog to help promote the magazine.

DIstribution

  Distribution is defined as sharing something out among a number of recipients. According to "Magazine circulation  information revealed that more and more readers are getting their information from the internet and less from print publications. Also that may sound sound bad, but it opens up even more opportunities for distributors, especially those who depend on strong business magazine circulation." From the knowledge of this research, we will distribute our magazine at local healthcare seminars, high schools, and at healthcare facilities. The magazine will also have an online copy available on the website of Sarasota High School. Overall our magazine will be distributed in person and online based on the "new age" of magazine distribution.

Magazine article topic

My magazine article is going to be about nurses. I'm going to interview my aunt who is a nurse practitioner and i'm going to write whats it's like to be a nurse and what skills it takes, and what schooling you have to do to get there. I chose to do this topic, because I find this field very interesting and it's so diverse and there are different kinds of practices you can work for ranging from cardiologist to oncologist.

Project Decision

     My decision on the Media Studies project is I am going to do the magazine project. I came to this decision by weighing out my strengths and weaknesses, and the magazine project seemed like a better fit when it comes to my strengths. Also with the film project I don't have the time to go somewhere and film with my partner, and that's not fair to put on my partner. The people in my group consist of myself and Heather. The roles and jobs is that myself will be in charge of designing the magazine, while Heather will be in charge of the interviews. The premise of the magazine will be about healthcare and how to become healthy and fit. This will help and allow people to become aware of the health industry and how to get involved. The target audience for our magazine will be people looking for more information about health. We will advertise the magazine by providing information on our blogs. I know this is a viable media product, because health and fitness is a important and big topic around the world. We will distribute the magazine, by getting together with others and hand them out at healthcare seminars.

Movie Project Strengths and Weaknesses

    Based on my strengths the movie project would be a good fit, because I am good with coming up with ideas. For example if our group was having trouble coming up with ideas I would be able to come up with an idea very quickly. Also another strength I have is that I am good with knowing the media vocabulary. For example if our group was filming I know what vocabulary word to say so they could act out the scene. Another strength I have is I am very good with taking videos. For example I would know where to go take the video and how to follow the characters. Based on my weaknesses the movie project wouldn't be a good fit, because I have a very busy schedule and I don't really have time to get together with anyone. By not being able to get together with my group would make me less involved and not fair to my group, because I wouldn't be doing any work. Another weakness I have is I am not good with  editing. For example if our group was to finish filming and asked me to do the editing I would have no idea how to do the editing.

Magazine Project Strengths and Weaknesses

     Based on my strengths the magazine would be a good fit for me, because I am well organized and I could organize the magazine neatly and nicely. Being organized is a good tool to have when creating a magazine so you know where to put the articles or pictures you created. Another reason the magazine would be great fit for me is, because I am very good at putting things together. For example if I see an article I'll know exactly what pictures will go with it and what kinds of words to say. Another strength of mine that's useful for the project is I am great with coming up with ideas. Coming up with ideas can be useful when creating a magazine, because it can help contribute more to the magazine and make it look good. Based on my weaknesses the magazine wouldn't be a good a fit for me, because I procrastinate a lot. The problem with procrastinating and doing the magazine is that creating a magazine it takes a lot of time to make the magazine perfect, so if I wait till the last minute it's not going to turn out great and deadlines won't be made. Another weakness that makes me not a great fit for the magazine project is sometimes I have trouble with spelling. The problem with spelling and doing the magazine project is when you do the magazine project you are typing articles and you can't misspell words or it can ruin the whole article.
