Creative Critical Reflection draft

1. My product uses or challenges conventions because it doesn't have a standard look. For example a standard women's health magazine doesn't use the same font we do. For our magazine project we used an abundance amount of fonts. While standard magazines a couple of different ones. Standard health magazines usually have a font for titles then a different font for the actual article, but we used a different font for every categories which helps make the words pop more. Another example is that we wrote magazine on the side of our title. Standard health magazine don't really have that written but if they do it's not written the way we rote ours. This makes our magazines different. But my magazine uses conventions because we have both pictures and titles in our magazine. The use of titles and magazines really make the readers want to read the article.
My magazine project represent social groups or issues because our magazine is a health magazine. This means that people interested in health are going to read the magazine. For example my magazine I interviewed a nurse practitioner. This article can help people that want to become a nurse or are interested in the field. What people can get out of reading my article is that they can know what job skills it takes and also what school requirements you have to do to get a job like that. Also in the article it describes the challenges that nurses go through which can help another health care person relate to the stories. But the magazine also has health tip and workouts which can help someone that want to become healthy and stay in shape. Overall this my magazine focuses on health and it opened up to health tips and workouts.

Project Revision

The revision I made to my magazine project was I added a page number to the bottom center of the page. When I first turned in my project I didn't have any page numbers at all. This will help my magazine because this will now help the reader know what they are reading. I have the name of the featured article at the top of the page but putting the page number helps distinguish between pages.

Project Revision

The revision I made to my magazine project was I made the empty space in the magazine more usable by making the letters a little bit bigger font and also by expanding the purple boxes making the words in the boxes pop more. This can help my magazine by making it look not so dull and it looks like I have a lot more information than I really do. Also this makes the the table of contents all around better looking.

Project Revision

For my magazine project I revised the font and the style of the feature on the front of my magazine. I used to have 4 features on the cover but then I soon realized that it looked better with two. So then I narrowed it down to only two features. Then I changed the font of the features from the generic calibri  to century gothic which made the cover pop and stand out a little better.

Marketing Techniques

As seen in the Superbowl commercials we watched there are many different ways/techniques you can market a product. For example in the Doritos commercial they used humor and the commercial reminded people why their product was fun. In our health magazine we could incorporate funny jokes about health and why it's important to stay healthy and make it fun but knowledgeable. Also another commercial we saw was the Heinz ketchup and the way they used marketing techniques was they used emotional appeal. A way to incorporate that into our magazine is to use words or phrases that sound like you want to buy our health magazine. These marketing techniques will both help people appeal to the product and make your product interesting.
